We understand that bringing one of our precious puppies into your family is a significant decision, and we want to ensure that the entire process is clear and straightforward. Our contracts are carefully crafted to safeguard the interests of you as the buyer, us as the breeder, and most importantly, the well-being of our puppies. To help you navigate this journey with confidence, we’ve outlined the key terms and conditions in simple, easy-to-understand guides.

Understanding Our Purchase Contract

1. Meet the Parties

This agreement is between you (the Buyer) and Tamara Nickey (the Seller), the heart behind BCDD. It lays out all the details about your puppy, including its breed, birth date, color, gender, and the specific package you've chosen.

2. Your Responsibilities as a Puppy Parent

  • Health Check-Up: We require you to take your puppy to the vet within three days of bringing them home to ensure they're healthy.

  • Care Guidelines: Your puppy needs love, care, and proper veterinary attention. This includes feeding, exercise, shelter, and medical check-ups. We ask that you follow all local laws to provide the best home for your new family member.

3. Breeding Policies

  • Breeding Rights: If you've chosen the AKC Full Rights Package, your puppy can participate in breeding activities. If you don't have breeding rights but later decide to breed, you can request them for an additional fee. Unauthorized breeding comes with significant penalties.

  • Breeding Terms: We have specific guidelines to ensure responsible breeding practices, like waiting until your puppy is of the appropriate age.

4. Rehoming Your Puppy

  • Notify Us: If you need to rehome your puppy, please inform us first. We'll help facilitate the process and ensure your puppy finds a loving home.

  • Shelter Submission: Before considering a shelter, let us know. We might be able to take the puppy back.

5. Returns and Refunds

  • Return Policy: If, for any reason, you can't fulfill the contract, you're required to return the puppy to us. Depending on how long you've had the puppy, partial refunds may be available.

  • Refund Conditions: Refunds are issued after we successfully rehome the puppy, with the amount depending on the length of ownership.

6. Legal Considerations

  • Indemnity: We can't be held liable for any accidents or injuries involving your puppy.

  • Limitations: We can't guarantee your puppy's final size, color, or temperament due to natural variations.

  • Acknowledgment: This is a purchase, not a rescue or adoption.

7. Staying Connected

  • Contact Updates: Keep us updated if your contact details change. We love staying in touch and receiving updates and photos of your puppy.

  • Sharing Moments: With your permission, we may share your puppy’s photos on our website or social media.
